The Manual Packer Operator is responsible for the accurate and efficient packing of finished products, ensuring the correct number of bags per case and compliance with quality, safety, and regulatory standards. This role plays a critical part in maintaining product integrity and operational efficiency.
Production & Quality Control
• Follow all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and safety regulations.
• Verify packaging accuracy: correct item, bag count per case, lot number, expiration date, and label identification.
• Safely and efficiently pack products following company protocols.
• Perform visual inspections to identify any packaging or labeling defects.
• Maintain a clean and organized packaging area in accordance with 5S methodology.
• Support bagger operators by reporting issues or discrepancies immediately
Documentation & Reporting
• Accurately report any equipment malfunctions, quality issues, or safety concerns to the supervisor.
• Ensure all required documentation related to packaging and product quality is completed and maintained.
Team Collaboration
• Communicate and coordinate with the production and warehouse teams to ensure smooth product flow.
• Work closely with supervisors and maintenance teams to resolve operational issues promptly.
Work Conditions
• Work is performed in a food manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, food residues, and allergens.
• PPE is mandatory, including hairnets, beard covers, face masks, and appropriate clothing.
• Frequent standing, repetitive tasks, and lifting (up to 50 lbs) are required.
• Must be able to work in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment.
Qualifications:
• High school diploma or equivalent required; technical training or certification in food production is a plus.
• Proven experience in a similar production or packaging role preferred.
• Basic mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
• Familiarity with food safety standards and quality control procedures.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow procedures accurately.
• Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment.
• Flexibility to work various shifts and overtime as needed.
