Job Description


Mon-Fri 6am-230pm

Job Responsibilities:

  • Active involvement in promoting and maintaining a safe work environment.
  • Makes simple to complex forming, semi-permanent and/or progressive dies.
  • Performs simple to complex layout work and jig boring.
  • May perform of aid set-up activities to make quality parts.
  • Actively promotes and maintains a safe work environment. Complies with all Company safety rules/ policies.
  • Notify supervisor (or lead person) immediately of problems, concerns or questions.
  • Keeps work area clean and free of hazards.
  • Follow special job instructions as communicated by supervisor or lead person and as on job card.
  • Comply with all Company policies and safety rules.
  • Any other duties as assigned by supervisor or lead person.

Qualifications and Competencies:
  • Strong working knowledge shop math including trigonometry
  • Must be capable of building/repairing tools from part print of minimum work instructions.
  • Ability to read English as required for interpreting job cards and prints.
  • Can follow work directions and safety requirements.
  • Self motivated; takes initiative for quality and safety
  • Safety and quality minded
  • Team player when necessary.
  • Some heavy lifting involved.
  • Must be able to read and use a micrometer, caliper, scale height indicator, optical comparator, ect.

Required Education and Experience:
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent preferred.

PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
  • Prefer completion of related technical school course.
  • Five year minimum progressive and stage tooling experience.
  • Press room/punch press experience
  • Willing and able to wear all required person protective equipment.
  • One or more years in a job shop environment desired.

Working Conditions and Physical Demands:
  • Short to medium run job-shop, metal stamping environment, dust, dirt, noise, oils, fast-paced environment, hazardous machinery and equipment.
  • Fast paced environment in a Job Shop and Metal Fabrication.
  • Work environment: Cement flooring, seasonal temperatures, background noise of machining, steel presses, shearing machine, hammering noises, power tool operation.
  • Safety PPE required: Steel toes shoes, safety glasses, hearing protection. Other PPE required per the specification of the job performed.
  • Possible overtime but not guaranteed.
  • Hazardous machinery and equipment
  • Repetitive movements: Reaching, carrying and lifting.
  • Standing: Must be able to stand for long periods of time. Standing is on a frequent basis to perform job tasks.
  • Sitting: Sit on rare basis(breaks or operating some machines).
  • Walking: occasional to retrieve/deliver materials for performing a job task or to take part to quality inspection site.
  • Squatting/Crouching: occasional basis to retrieve materials/supplies needed.
  • Lift: frequent lifting up to 50 pounds.
  • Stair climbing: 20 stairs to break room.
