Job Title: Vegetable Seeds Development Intern
Location: Woodland, CA
Job Type: Summer Internship

Pay:
$23/hr

Duration:
June 2026 – September 2026

About the Role:
Looking to get hands-on experience in agriculture and plant science? This internship is a great opportunity to work outdoors, learn directly from experienced teams, and be part of real projects that support seed development across a variety of crops.

As a Vegetable Seeds Development Intern, you’ll work closely with breeding and market segment teams, helping evaluate new plant varieties and collect important data that drives innovation.

What You’ll Be Doing:
  • Assist with field activities, including evaluating new experimental hybrids and inbred lines
  • Help collect and record data using digital tools
  • Support phenotyping work in crops like melon, watermelon, squash, and tomato
  • Work alongside and help coordinate field crews during peak season
  • Contribute to projects focused on trait discovery and validation
  • Follow all safety, environmental, and quality guidelines
  • Jump in and help wherever needed—this is a hands-on role with lots to learn

What We’re Looking For:
  • Currently pursuing a degree in Plant Biology, Plant Breeding, Horticulture, Genetics, Agronomy, or a related field
  • Must be returning to school after the internship (graduating December 2026 or later)
  • Comfortable working outdoors and in field conditions
  • Detail-oriented and organized
  • A team player who can also work independently
  • Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office)
  • Authorized to work in the U.S.

Bonus if you’re bilingual in English and Spanish, but it’s not required.
