Job Description

Position Summary
We are seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Gluer/Feeder Operator to support the production of high-quality folding carton packaging. This position is responsible for setting up, operating, and feeding carton materials into high-speed folder-gluer equipment while ensuring product quality, safety, and production efficiency. The ideal candidate is mechanically inclined, quality-focused, and capable of working effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. General Converting utilizes advanced printing, cutting, and gluing technology to deliver premium packaging solutions to customers across multiple industries.
Essential Responsibilities

Operate and assist in the setup of folder-gluer equipment according to job specifications.
Feed printed and die-cut carton blanks into production equipment accurately and efficiently.
Monitor machine operation to ensure proper adhesive application, folding accuracy, and overall product quality.
Perform quality inspections throughout production runs, including dimensional checks and visual inspections.
Identify and remove defective materials or finished products.
Read and interpret production orders, work instructions, and quality specifications.
Maintain production records and complete required documentation accurately.
Assist with machine changeovers, make-ready activities, and routine maintenance tasks.
Ensure work areas are clean, organized, and compliant with safety and housekeeping standards.
Communicate production issues, material shortages, and quality concerns to supervisors and team members.
Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on quality, efficiency, and waste reduction.
Follow all company safety policies, GMP practices, and food-packaging manufacturing requirements when applicable.

Qualifications Required

High school diploma or GED.
2 years of manufacturing experience preferred.
Ability to read and follow production work orders and specifications.
Basic mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting ability.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Basic math skills, including measuring and counting.
Ability to stand for extended periods and work in a production environment.

Preferred

Experience operating folder-gluer, finishing, packaging, or converting equipment.
Experience in folding carton, printing, packaging, or paperboard manufacturing.
Knowledge of quality inspection procedures and manufacturing best practices.
Forklift certification or willingness to obtain certification.

Physical Requirements

Frequently lift, carry, push, or pull materials up to 50 pounds.
Stand and walk throughout the work shift.
Bend, reach, twist, and perform repetitive motions.
Ability to work around moving machinery and production equipment while adhering to safety procedures.
