Job Description


We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Entry-Level Food Safety Technician to join our Food Safety & Quality Assurance team at our fresh produce cold storage and repack facility in McAllen, TX.

This role plays a critical part in protecting product integrity, ensuring regulatory compliance, and maintaining the highest standards of food safety throughout daily operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct routine Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) inspections throughout the facility

  • Monitor and document sanitation activities and compliance standards

  • Assist with the Environmental Monitoring Program (EMP), including swabbing procedures

  • Perform ATP testing and accurately record and report results

  • Verify and document pre-operational inspections

  • Monitor and document product and facility temperatures

  • Maintain accurate food safety records, logs, and documentation

  • Ensure compliance with company SOPs, FDA regulations, and industry standards

  • Support internal audits, corrective actions, and continuous improvement initiatives

  • Assist with employee food safety training when required

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required

  • Basic knowledge of food safety principles (HACCP, GMPs, sanitation) preferred

  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) strongly preferred

  • Basic computer proficiency (Microsoft Excel, Word, data entry)

  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment

Physical & Work Environment Requirements

  • Ability to walk production and warehouse areas daily

  • Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. occasionally

  • Comfortable working in refrigerated environments (30–40°F)

  • Able to stand for extended periods as needed
