Diesel Mechanic

Location: Cedar Rapids, IA
Pay: $25–$35/hour (based on experience)
Schedule: Monday–Friday | 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Job Type: Full-Time

Job Summary:
We are hiring an experienced Diesel Mechanic to join our team in Cedar Rapids, IA. This role focuses on diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining diesel-powered vehicles and industrial equipment. The ideal diesel mechanic has hands-on experience with heavy equipment, preventative maintenance, and mechanical troubleshooting.

Diesel Mechanic Responsibilities:

  • Diagnose and repair diesel engines, vehicles, and equipment

  • Perform preventative maintenance to reduce downtime

  • Service forklifts, shop trucks, rollbacks, roll-offs, semi-trailers, and material handlers

  • Inspect equipment and identify mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues

  • Test equipment after repairs to ensure proper operation

  • Maintain accurate maintenance and repair records

  • Follow safety procedures and company policies

Diesel Mechanic Qualifications:

  • Previous experience as a diesel mechanic or heavy equipment mechanic

  • Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills

  • Experience with diesel engines and industrial vehicles

  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment

  • Valid driver’s license required

  • CDL preferred but not required
