Job Description

Automation Technician
Davenport, Iowa
1st Shift: 7a-4p
2nd Shift: 3p-11:30p
Pay: $38/hr Based on Experience

Advance Services is hiring an Automation Technician who isn’t afraid of hard work and takes pride in keeping equipment running safely and effectively. This position plays a key role in supporting production and maintaining automated systems. Experience or training in Automation Technology is preferred—apply today to start the conversation!

Responsibilities:

-Monitor, troubleshoot, and adjust automated systems, PLC-controlled equipment, and machine settings
-Use HMI screens to diagnose faults, adjust setpoints, and restore equipment to normal operation
-Perform minor PLC logic edits and parameter changes (no full program development required)

Requirements:

Perform I/O checks and verify sensor, actuator, and device functionality during maintenance
High school diploma or equivalent required; technical certification in automation, mechatronics, industrial electronics, robotics, or related field preferred
Working knowledge of PLC/HMI systems (Allen Bradley or similar) including interpreting ladder logic and performing basic edits
Experience using multimeters, basic electrical tools, and diagnostic equipment.
CMMS experience preferred
Ability to read electrical schematics, ladder diagrams, and equipment manuals
Must be able read written instruction in English
Must be able to lift up to 55lbs
