Job Title: 1st Shift QC Technician
Schedule: Monday through Thursday 4am to 2:30pm
Pay: $20 to $23 based on experience

Position Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive 1st Shift QC Technician to join our quality assurance team. In this vital role, you will ensure our raw materials, in-process samples, and finished products meet strict quality standards and specifications. Your expertise will help maintain our commitment to safety, compliance, and excellence, supporting seamless production operations and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Evaluate all raw materials, in-process batches, and finished goods samples against established specifications to ensure quality compliance.
  • Compare Certificates of Analysis (COA) results with product specifications, identifying any discrepancies.
  • Maintain meticulous records of all test results, test procedures, and generate Certificates of Analysis (COA) promptly upon customer request.
  • Conduct routine sanitation audits both internally and for customer sites, ensuring adherence to GMP and cleanliness standards.
  • Audit food handling areas and production lines regularly to verify compliance with safety and quality protocols.
  • Initiate and update setup sheets for laboratory and production processes as needed.
  • Calibrate and verify laboratory and testing equipment regularly to ensure accuracy and reliability.
  • Coordinate sample deliveries for outside testing laboratories and document all activities accordingly.
  • Perform daily checks on scales and metal detectors in the packing area to ensure proper functionality.
  • Monitor production lines for adherence to quality procedures and specifications, providing feedback for continuous improvement.
  • Audit employee compliance with GMP and safety guidelines, fostering a culture of quality and accountability.
  • Support monthly food safety and employee safety initiatives, including documentation and compliance reviews.
  • Oversee sanitation of blending and production equipment, ensuring cleanliness and safety standards are met.
  • Assist in operational and administrative tasks, contributing to overall plant efficiency.
  • Support management in upkeeping Kosher and Halal certifications, ensuring ongoing compliance.
  • Review ingredients and finished products for age and proper storage conditions.
  • Help manage obsolescent materials, ensuring inventory accuracy and safety.
  • Play an active role in Recall and Mock Recall procedures, preparing and executing protocols flawlessly.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement projects in Quality and Operations, researching and implementing best practices.
  • Accurately enter production and quality data into our database systems, ensuring traceability and transparency.

Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical training or certification in food safety or quality assurance preferred.
  • Prior experience in a food manufacturing or quality control environment is a plus.
  • Strong understanding of GMP, HACCP, Kosher, and Halal standards.
  • Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to perform routine calibration and maintenance of laboratory equipment.
  • Good organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks efficiently.
  • Effective communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Comfortable working on first shift hours with flexibility for occasional overtime.
