Job Summary:
We are seeking a reliable and safety-conscious Outside Forklift Operator to join our team. This role involves operating forklifts to load, unload, and transport materials at outdoor locations. The ideal candidate will have experience operating forklifts in an outdoor environment, possess a strong understanding of safety procedures, and be able to work independently or as part of a team to ensure materials are handled efficiently and safely.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts to load and unload materials from trucks, pallets, or storage areas outdoors.
- Safely transport materials to designated areas, ensuring proper stacking and organization.
- Conduct routine inspections of forklifts before and after use, reporting any malfunctions or safety concerns.
- Maintain an accurate log of materials moved, including quantities, types of materials, and locations.
- Work in coordination with team members to ensure smooth operations and meet project timelines.
- Assist with organizing and securing outdoor storage areas for materials.
- Follow all company safety protocols and ensure the safe operation of equipment at all times.
- Adhere to traffic rules and regulations when operating forklifts in outdoor environments, including working in busy or congested areas.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment by performing light maintenance tasks and cleaning equipment as needed.
- Assist with other manual labor duties, including lifting and moving materials, as required.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in forklift operation, preferably in an outdoor or industrial setting.
- Ability to work in outdoor conditions, including various weather conditions.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to handle materials safely and efficiently.
- Basic knowledge of safety practices and equipment operation.
- Ability to lift heavy objects and perform physically demanding tasks.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to follow instructions and work independently when required.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds regularly.
- Ability to operate forklifts and other heavy machinery safely in outdoor environments.
- Comfortable working in various weather conditions, including heat, cold, and rain.
- Ability to stand, bend, and crouch for extended periods.
