Job Description
• Attach brackets to end of door after door is rolled.
• Lift raw materials, finished products, and packed items, manually or using hoists.
• Unload items from machines and place on assembly stands.
• Help production workers by performing duties of lesser skill, such as supplying or holding materials or tools, or cleaning work areas and equipment.
• Apply hand or foot brakes and move levers to lock hoists.
• Move materials to and from storage or production areas by hand or using other equipment.
• Install protective devices, such as bracing, padding, or strapping, to prevent shifting or damage to items being transported.
• Attach slings, hooks, or other devices to lift materials and/or product with overhead crane/hoist and guide loads.
• Maintain storage areas to ensure that inventory is protected.
• Sets up and operates rolling mill to form sheet metal sections of various types, gauges, and lengths from coils of sheet steel according to production orders.
• Aside steel bars to work carts according to size/type.
• Place steel bar in clamps on each end of work bench. • Guide rubber strip through side of steel bar and slide down length.
• Cut both ends of rubber to length at each end of steel bar using industrial scissors.
• Place steel bracket on steel bar with one bolt at each end using air powered hand tool.
• Stack completed steel bottom bars on appropriate pallet for transport to next work area.
• With partner, carry inside axle spring assembly to worktable.
• Slide axle spring assembly into rolled steel tube which can measure from 2’ to 22’ and 9 ½ “to 12” in diameter.
• Use air powered hand tool to clinch end unit drum to end of rolled steel tube on each side to complete steel overhead door axle assembly.
• With partner lift completed assembly to finished product cart.
• Push full carts to next work area.
• Keeps work area clean and neat.
• Other duties as assigned.
