Job Description

A deburrer is a manufacturing professional who smooths edges and sides of manufactured parts, typically metal components, using various tools and techniques to remove burrs (rough edges left from machining processes).  
Mon - Fri: 2:30 PM to 11:00 pm 2nd Shift            Pay Rate: $21HR

Key Responsibilities and Duties:
  • Remove burrs and sharp edges: Use hand and power tools (like deburring knives, files, sanders, grinders, tumblers, and bead blast cabinets) to remove excess material and smooth contoured surfaces.
  • Operate deburring equipment: Utilize vibrating and tumbling deburring equipment as needed.
  • Inspect and measure parts: Verify dimensions and finish specifications using precision measuring tools such as micrometers, dial indicators, and calipers.
  • Review blueprints and work orders: Understand desired specifications and instructions.
  • Perform quality control checks: Ensure products meet required quality standards.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area: Adhere to safety protocols and housekeeping duties.
  • Complete documentation: Record production and quality data accurately.
  • Collaborate with team members: Work effectively to meet production goals.
  • Contribute to process improvement: Identify and suggest ways to enhance deburring processes. 
Qualifications and Requirements:
Typical requirements for a deburrer include a high school diploma or equivalent. While experience in deburring techniques is preferred, some positions offer on-the-job training. Essential skills include the ability to read blueprints and technical drawings, proficiency with deburring tools, and familiarity with precision measuring instruments. Attention to detail, manual dexterity, hand-eye coordination, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment are also important. Physical requirements often include the ability to stand for extended periods and lift moderate weight. Basic computer skills and strong communication and problem-solving abilities are also beneficial.
