Job Summary:
The primary responsibilities of the PackSmart machine operator will be to set up, operate, and troubleshoot machinery to produce high-quality products while leading a team of employees to successfully meet production goals.
Job Duties:
- Work on machines, navigating software programs to scan, make adjustments and overall help the main operators.
- Safely and with high quality, operate production machinery with a primary focus on the PackSmart machine.
- Train general machine operators on safe and proper machine set up and operation.
- Instruct and lead a team of 4+ employees.
- Safely make physical adjustments to the machine.
- Understand how machines work, mechanical knowledge to be able to troubleshoot, adjust settings accordingly, and perform necessary repairs.
- Read and understand data.
- Make camera adjustments.
- Review first article, data proofs, and other production paperwork.
- Audit quality for operations on each side of the running machine.
- Set-up work area/machines.
Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills and Requirements:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- 3+ years' experience in a progressive, high-volume manufacturing environment
- Must be mechanically inclined
- Advanced math and reading skills and must be able to read and understand work and safety
- Read, Write and Speak English
- Ability to manage multiple activities at different stages of complexity
- Developed interpersonal and communication skills
- Strong organization skills combined with structured problem solving and the ability to determine root cause, containment, and corrective actions
1st Shift = $16.00 per hour (After completing probation period pay goes up to $18.00 an hour)
Monday – Friday (OT on Saturdays when company advises)
Hours: 6:00am to 2:30pm (May be required to come in as early as 4:00am for daily OT and will need to stay late when daily OT is required)
2nd Shift = $17.60 per hour (After completing probation period pay goes up to $19.60 an hour)
Monday – Friday (OT on Saturdays when company advises)
Hours: 3:00pm – 11:30pm (May be required to come in early and May be required to stay as late as 2:00am for daily OT)
